Yeap, when I was applying, i think there were close to 3000 applicants and then they interviewed/tested 200 of which 80 were accepted.

3.9 but dont get discouraged, I have people in my class with GPAs ranging from 3.2-4.0.

thanks for your response! do you know if they might accept pathophysiology from another SUNY school? Also, what is the schedule like once you're in the program? Do you have a breakdown of which classes for each semester?

I'm pretty sure there are around 600 applicants not 3000. I was told this multiple times by the staff from the school of nursing. They also told me that there are 200 interviews and then 80 are accepted which is consistent with what you said. If there were 3000 applicants that would mean it's a less than 3% acceptance rate which I would hope isn't true haha

There is about 10% or so acceptance rate.

600 people apply, 175-200 get interviews and 80 are accepted. On the bright side, a lot of people who don't get interviews are those who did not fill out the application correctly/ get all their recommendations in.

They are constantly changing the curriculum almost every year so take this answer for what its worth. You will typically have classes 3-4 times a week that run from 8/9am-3/4pm, sometimes with 2 hours or more break time in between. You also have one day a week dedicated to clinical, which for the first two semester is 8 hours long and then changes to 12 hours for the last 2 semesters. Also, your clinicals in the first year only tun for half a semester whereas in your second year they eill be split among two classes so you will have clinicals for the majority of the semester, also keep in mind that your clinical can fall on a weekend.

Hello all! I was finally glad to see that there's a thread for SBU Nursing Class of 2018. I submitted my application on January 7, the actual deadline for this upcoming fall. I just received an email about setting up an interview today! I was extremely ecstatic at the email but at the same time I thought I would have waited longer from reading previous threads on past SBU Nursing admissions. Anyways, I would love to hear about everyone else and their experiences so far.

Im so glad this thread exists! I just received an email for an interview yesterday and yeah I was surprised bc the girls in pre-nursing were saying to expect an email in late Feb.
