How might stigma be reduced in terms of a group being formed i.e. the group consisting of other individuals who are being stigmatised for the same reason i.e. HIV.

Do you mean, using your example, how could forming a support group for those with HIV help reduce the stigma of the disease?

the group members accept each other

and find strength in their mutual supportiveness.

then each feels better able to cope

with other aspects of life

a support group with members who meet together

regularly, consistently, reliably.

Is this what you mean?

Or is it that belonging to the group stigmatizes the member as HIV+, so that no one wants to join?
