I have been looking at stethoscopes, Littman primarily. Can any of you suggest a great quality one, if I dish out the dough, I want to get what I pay for. I want one that will allow me to hear a mouse pass gas in the next room:roll . Seriously I need good sound amplification. Thanks in advance .

I can't hear well from any of them. I have a Hewlett Packard and it is the easiest form me to hear the slightest rub.

We bought DH a Littman Master Cardiology a few years ago and it has been THE best investment. It works better than any scope i've ever seen or used. Even better than the peds and Neonate that i had. Its pricy (i want to say $240 or so) and he had a name plate engraved and permanently attached to it so no-one could take it! lol But WELL worth the money and tax deductible!

go to 'allheart.com' (maybe allhearts.com')
I just picked up a master cardiology for 140$, like the previous poster, it's a freakin awesome scope.....and seems like i may've paid 100$ less!
The only problem is, if you pay that much for a scope you may not want to dirty it up at work!

my colleagues on cardiac stepdown are trading in their littmanns for ultrascopes. those are the round glass headed ones that you can customize with different designes in the head, and can have name embeded in the design. they are available thru several of the scrub catalogues, and in many of the uniform supply stores. they generally only run $99. just doing a quick google search, and found a sale: http://www.rnsupply.com/ultrascope.html
my friends all say they can hear thru towels, robes, etc. i'm sticking with my cardiology ii for now - too much invested, but i'll definately be looking at them when it's time to replace.

LOL this is what my DH says! he doesn't want it "messed up". :roll Now mind you, we paid this big price about 2 years ago, i'm glad to know they've gone way down. Maybe i'll buy me one now! lol
