So I just graduated from an ADN program, passed the NCLEX and today I finally got licensed (it took almost 2 weeks because my background check was delayed). I have a littmann but now want to upgrade. I don't know what kind I have right now. I bought the cheapest one I could afford at the time.

So I am debating, do I get a cardiology III or a master cardiology (I think that is it). Anyone have any advice. I have used the cardiology III but not the master cardiology. Any input would be great!!!

Love my Master Cardiology!!!

I just finished my first semester of clinicals in my BSN program, so I haven't had much experience on a floor yet, but I absolutely love my master cardiology. Make sure you get a name tag or have your name engraved on it. Best wishes to you as a newly licensed nurse!

Thanks Faith. I am looking at prices right now and the master cardiology is not that much more than i thought it would be. It is about the same price as what I thought I would have to pay for the cardiology III.

I found another thread from a while back while doing my stethescope search and people have been saying that they really love their master cardiology stethescope. So I think I am sold. I think I just needed a little more input before I made the decision.

keep an eye on steeles clearance section I got a misemgraved master cardio black for about a hundred if i remember right. Mine ended up saying good R.N. LOL nothing a little black nail polish didn't cover up.

Might also want to consider Ultrascopes... I don't have one but have been reading about them here and am now torn between getting an Ultrascope and a Master Cardiology from Littman lol. They're just soooo nice looking and seem to offer excellent sound... Probably not any help since I can't decide myself, but just wanted to throw that in!

I've used both an Ultrascope and a Littmann Classic S.E. II, and I received a Cardiology III for graduation. The Cardio III blows both out of the water. For some reason, the Ultrascope only worked well with peds..I couldn't hear a thing on any adult I tried. The Classic II S.E. got me through school just fine. I plan on going into cardiology, and researched the Cardio III vs the Master Cardio. Reviews I read preferred the Cardio III. If you can, I would try on both at a uniform shop and see which works better for you :redbeathe
