Sterlization

What's the difference between chemical and mechanical sterlization in applying to the body.

I answered that chemical sterilization uses chemical solutions like betadine, alcohol, etc, while mechanical uses heat. Our CI said that my answer for mechanical solution was wrong. Any ideas?
