Hello
Don't know much about what's covered in a statistics class but I need it for a prereq. The school offers the class on line. Is this doable or unrealistic? Do you all recommend taking it in a class room setting or online?

Depends on the teacher. Go to www.ratemyprofessor.com to check things out. I would have saved myself a whole lot of grief is I had known about this site. I did a home study, 1 classroom day a month, w/proctored exams. Got an A. Had tried to take stats the previous year and dropped out as I was pulling a solid F. The difference was an awsome teacher vs. a twit. Good luck.

i am taking this class online right now though my cc....i have had algebra and quantitative analysis but this is completely foreign to me.... we use my math lab which is good except for fine details about the math calculations....if i need extra help i look to the textbook but getting a visual from the teacher is kinda hard...however, i dont have to leave my house for this class it is all online which for me is must....i would say if you have not had algebra and are not familiar with formulas and their applications it might be better to take this class on campus otherwise happy dl...

I had a minor in Math/Statistics in my previous life so I am probably qualified to say this. A statistics class involves quite a bit of elementary algebra. If you are comfortable with algebra, you could probably get by on-line. If you don't know your algebra I would definitely go with the traditional classroom.
