Starting Fall 2012

I am registered to start Fall of 2012. Signed up for all my classes, expecting my Dars to come any day (registered in Feb!), told it would be the end of July. First, we get hit with a tuition hike letter and next I get a letter from my advisor no DARS until late October!!! Has anyone else gotten their DAR yet?

The reason I ask is because paying 100% OOP makes me think U of Wyo might be a better fit for me. Did anyone else compare the 2 programs?

I hate to quit before I even get to the gate but this is a heck of a way to start a program. Am I the only one running into glitches or is anyone else hitting snags?

there are downfalls to the APA software but you can google OWL. It is all I have used throughout the program( No APA book for me) besides ever nursing course outlines the basics you need for APA format. They are not looking to have you reinvent the wheel here. I started in Spring of 2011 and have had no issues with my papers. I also rent all of my books. If you look hard enough you can find your state nursing guides for free online or even check your hospital library if they have one.

The rate hike they started is really not that bad. I still find that is is cheaper and doable depending on how fast you want to get done. Besides I am not doing clinicals and that is a price worth paying a touch more for.LOL

Also the DARS has been an issue for most. You can forget about having it before you start. Mine was finally completed many months after starting the program. I check it often. I recently just found that they accepted my Public speaking for my Humanities credit. Very happy about that. If you are not satisfied you can always dispute it by calling and talking to the person preparing your DARS to find out why a course did not transfer.

I feel the exact same way! I'm stunned about the whole APA thing-I'm totally discouraged now.

Don't be discouraged....check out citationmachine.net, .... it has helped me alot. I'm on my 3rd NSG course, and I've gotten all A's so far. It is alot of work. I rememember how overwhelmed I was at first. Just take it one day at a time, and go through the reading assignments one at a time. Pretty soon you will feel more confident.

Thank you , beautifulyyou. I take one every 5 weeks .I feel overwhelmed on the first day. Second day, I feel much more confident after reading the book.

Are you doubling up on classes or taking one at a time? I work full time, have three kids, and a husband. I am curious as to how I will manage my time. Guess I will do it...Always have.

I have some books I'd be willing to sell for a reasonable price. Just email me at [email protected] or PM me on this board. Thanks and good luck!
