Hello, I will be starting CNA classes in FL in October. Eight week class at local state college. Does anybody know how many weeks in to a typical class that nursing home/hospital clinicals start? Also, do you actually get to learn skills with real patients or are all skills done with mannequin's, etc? Thanks.

My class met once a week for 16 weeks and our clinicals were the last 4 classes. We practiced most of the skills on each other and on mannekins in our sim lab at school and then we had a large checklist of skills we had to do on the residents (our clinicals were at a nursing home) during our clinicals.
That's awesome, thanks for responding. I just wanted to make sure there is enough repetition to pass the state exam without forgetting any steps!

Clinicals were the third week out of four for my class, and we had a skills lab for three days beforehand. We practiced all skills on each other except for bed bath and perineal care, which my clinicals seemed to consist of almost exclusively, so I got the practice in.
