Staffing Rant...

so-

i work on a rehab floor in a medium size hospital.

i do 2X16 qwkend and tomorrow morning we will have 2 nurses; 1 pca and 15 pts... mind you the charge I will be working with is "restricted" in physical labor due to "injuries" so I know she will be given me at least 9.

called the supervisor and he bascially said well...we'll do what we can... staffing issues ...blah, blah, blah

crap - I don't even want to come in tomorrow yet I need the $$

oh yeah - and while I am busting a$# with these amazingly needy pt's who don't get any PT or OT on the wkend I better keep our custumer service scores above 90% and check on my "adopted" room to make sure everything works and cross chart in a million stupid ways via computer and paper...........

holy cow- I almost feel better.

thanks for listening:uhoh3:

I feel for you. I wish we could all have pleasant working conditions and actually love our jobs. Unfortunately, that isn't so...

I have 47 - 48 pateints as a new grad 10 or more diabeteics 6 GT patients.. This is a very dangerous enviornment that I will be leaving STAT!

I know how you feel. I work at a hospital where adm. wants to get rid of

LPN'S. It's working I get more patients then anyone else and depending on who is in charge I get the heavest assignment. If I can find a better job I'm GONE!!!!
