Spokane Area Hospitals

Published

Hello,

I had hoped to relocate by now however I will be in Spokane for an indefinite amount of time. I will be applying to area hospitals in the near future. I would appreciate any feedback about Valley, Deaconess, and Sacred Heart hospitals. I am not a new RN but will be new to the hospital setting. If you currently work for any of the hospitals above or have worked there I would love to have your input. Pay is important but to be honest the environment is more important to me. I am looking for a place that promotes teamwork and has a generally positive atmosphere. Thank you in advance for your feedback. :)

As a student, Sacred Heart was very impressive and I really enjoyed the various floors I worked on and the nurses as well. Their Children's Hospital was awesome and I wish they were hiring because I would be there in a heartbeat. I was really blessed to work with some awesome nurses at all of my clinicals, but there were a few negative ones in the bunch which is unavoidable I've heard. Valley Hospital was great as well if you prefer the smaller hospital feel and had a slower pace than SHMC. Plus the location is a bit better to get to during the winter months, although we had an unusually mild winter this year. I didn't have the opportunity to have clinicals at Deaconess, Holy Family Hospital, the VA or Shriners Hospital but I never heard anything from my classmates that would scream at me "don't work there." Anyway, I know this wasn't exactly what you were asking for but I hope it helps a bit:nurse:
