Sphygmomanometer??

Published

SO I just got my list of what I need for my 1st semester of nursing school woohoo!! It says I need a sphygmomanometer ( blood pressure cuff) in bold is their exact words. Does this mean I just need a cuff or do I need the whole thing such as : [h=1]http://www.allheart.com/rilf15.html[/h]

So confused :/ help please??

You need the entire thing. Cuff, pump, manometer reading, everything.

Most of them come as one piece. Don't worry too much. ;-)

You can get them much cheaper. I don't think you need anything as nice as the one you posted from allheart. You can get them at Walmart for like $20. That should honestly be all you need.

Thank you so much everyone! I do worry way to much. Getting so nervous!!

You need the whole thing, but it will be sold as a set. I've never seen just cuffs for sale in retail stores.

Try Wal-mart or local scrub shops or medical supply stores. If you want to buy it online- look for something like this: Prestige Medical Premium Aneroid Sphygmomanometer | allheart.com

Specializes in Progressive, Intermediate Care, and Stepdown.

Blood pressure cuff? What's that? ;)

Yeah, a cheapy will do. Leave the expensive cuffs to the hospital's wallet. :)
