Specific CCRN study schedule

I've read the complete thread on taking the CCRN...but I really didn't see anything about specific study schedules.

I've been quasi studying for the last few months...just reading here and there not really TRYING to retain. I was thinking about scheduling at the beginning of July which would give me three months. How would you recommend studying? Did you divide the topics in any certain way? Devote a certain mount of time a day to study?

Recommendations would be appreciated.

I mostly just did questions. I knew I knew the content overall, so I focused on areas that I was weak on - neuro, endocrine, GI. I did LOTS of questions in those areas, read the rationales carefully, and reread those sections in my book if I was unsure.

I did a few practice questions a day in the weeks before I took the exam. I also listened to a CCRN test prep class for an hour or two at a time while playing silly computer games. I'm an auditory learner, so I was able to retain what I was hearing...but this strategy might not work for everyone. :) Good luck on the exam!

I did about 2-3 hrs after working 12 hrs shifts. I am sort of like Emily. Auditory/hands on. I did all mostly questions and the Gasparis DVDs. I also took notes so as I read them, I was able to recall what I was reading on my notes. One thing I like to do is study while I am on the threadmill or indoor bike. It helps me get two things done at once. Part of the study should be focused in understanding what the question is asking and able to ID the tricky part of the questions.

Good luck.
