SPC Spring 2018

Hello everyone,

I haven't seen a Spring 2018 thread started for SPC nursing hopefuls so I decided to start one. I am very eager and anxious and I know a lot of you are too. So who else is applying for the Nursing program at St. Pete College for the spring?

A little bit about me. I have a BS in Psych and returning for nursing. I have all my prereqs completed and have a 3.66 GPA.. I have A's in all my sciences except Mirco Lab I have a B. I am super nervous about my GPA knowing that many others have better GPAs. I am holding out hope that other people will apply to other programs. Also historically the Spring is less competitive. I am hoping to get in for the night classes. The application opens on July 1st so we can apply in 3 days!!! Then wait for what will feel like forever. The suspense is already killing me.

Where are the rest of the SPC Nursing hopefuls? Sound off... 3..2..1.. GO!

That was his program GPA. I think someone ended up not going at the very last minute and that's how he got in. So like someone mentioned earlier just depends on the applicant pool. A lot of people might also apply to other programs. I have a 3.67 so I'm extremely anxious.

Yes, the only way they start picking alternates is if the first picked applicants drop out for various reasons, don't complete the requirements on time, or do not pass the background check/drug test.

Hello everyone, I also finished Menards micro lab and lecture over the summer. I really hope we get into the program. I'm nervous because I'm right at the average 3.5... they say gpa accepted for spring range from 3.5 -3.7

Ok, so here's the deal historically Spring has a lower GPA average of applicants compared to fall. For instance, the supposed GPA cutoff was approx 3.76 with some alternates getting in with lower as alternates; therefore, I would assume the cutoff will be about 3.55 ish. With that being said I think you have a good chance of getting accepted for this upcoming spring semester. Although, yiu might be an alternate you should be one of the first alternates. You might get accepted with the first batch and not even need to be an alternate. Stay Positive!! I think you will be fine.

Thank you for the positive vibes!!! I've been trying to study calm but the wait is killing me. I've also heard about the spring being easier to get in and the advisors said i was within the gpa that gets accepted. But u never know. Thank u

Hi, I'm planning on applying for the Spring 2018. I have all classes taken. I think we all have a pretty good chance. My GPA is 3.9 with an A in MICRO and ANAT. Even though we are not 100% certain..If anyone would like to get a ahead and start looking at material for SPC at a Starbucks in Pinellas county somewhere I would be open to it. I have several friends that are in Nursing 1 (just started August) right now at SPC. Since we are all hopefuls for spring we can at least know what to expect by doing this. Let me know.

Hey, I'm applying to the program too guys! I was wondering did anybody take the opt out exam for the computer literacy course? If so, how long did it take for the "P" to show up in your grade book to say that you passed the exam. I took it today (Wednesday) and passed it, however, I don't see the "P" in my grade book yet.

It took several days for mine to show up but do not worry. I asked the lady at the front desk and she said even though we cannot see this all the administrators viewing your information will see that you passed. So no worries you are good to go!!

if you don't see it within 48 hours, I would confirm with an advisor as the close of the application is the 15th and you want to make sure everything is complete by then!

Okay thank you guys!!!

Wow only 43 days until November 1st! I'm really hoping my 3.733 GPA does it this time. I'm so ready to start nursing school lol
