SPC Fall 2019

Hey, everyone! I've been looking for a thread about fall applications for SPC Nursing program, but nothing yet! It may be early, since the application period just started on March 1st, but here we go! I applied as soon as it opened , and I'm crossing my fingers until the July 1st. Anyone else applied or planning to do it soon? Let me know your thoughts and plans, we are all together in this one ? .

the health department is the most packed I've ever seen it. The lady said the best time to go is Wednesday around 1 p.m.

Anybody know if we are supposed to wear our uniform to orientation?

Anyone wearing the uniform anyway?

(I'm bringing mine just incase)

Honestly, I don't think we are, since they never said anything in the email. I've read in the past year"s forums that people went casual.

Are you doing titers?

They didn’t require us to wear them last year

I went for TB skin test. May visit Walgreens to see the price.

If you have health insurance Walgreens might be able to give you some vaccinations for free. Or your primary HCP can prescribe them and you can get them at a reduced cost.

If you guys haven't walked around upstairs in the nursing area. I highly suggest it!

It’ll be more expensive. The test is $28 and they charge an additional $25 to read it according to their website

Walgreens asked $9 before and $9 after. So I made an appointment and got it done. Pick results up day after orientation!

Oh that’s good! I just ended up getting mine done at my doctors office when I went in for the physical. Can’t wait to be finished with all the appointments lol
