SPC Fall 2019

Hey, everyone! I've been looking for a thread about fall applications for SPC Nursing program, but nothing yet! It may be early, since the application period just started on March 1st, but here we go! I applied as soon as it opened , and I'm crossing my fingers until the July 1st. Anyone else applied or planning to do it soon? Let me know your thoughts and plans, we are all together in this one ? .

Did you make 2 appts—one for the drug panel and one for the alcohol?

Do we just go to a labcorp site with the castlebranch sheet? I don't see instructions on how to set up an appt for the drug test. I made an appt for the fingerprints though

Hmmm. Maybe I did the wrong thing. I did print the Castle Branch sheet, but I also made an appt on the lab Corp website. My appt is on Friday.

I just made an appt on the LabCorp website just in case! I'm going tomorrow morning

I just made an appointment at LabCorp as well, I'll go with the paper i printed out from the CastleBranch website. And I scheduled fingerprints. As far as the physical form, I couldn't find it anywhere, so I might go down to NUHS at HEC, and ask how all this works. Anyways I need to show them my shots record and see what they can accept or not. I'm thinking while I'm down there I can stop by and see the advisor too, they might be able to give out some of those forms before the orientation.

I made one for drug test, so when I go I'll explain that I need 10 panel urine plus alcohol test. They'll probably know anyways by the code.

I just found the physical form under to do list on the CastleBranch website, it's number 8. I'm gonna print it out and go to NUHS with it.

I just went to Scrubs N Stuff to check out prices on scrubs. I got 20% off of the pants and undershirts. If you buy shoes they are 20% off too. The scrub tops with the SPC logo do not qualify for 20% off. The sale ends today, but there may be a new sale in July. According to the sales person, the new scrubs do not fade and hold up really well.

Cool, thanks! I’m gonna go check that out this coming week.

I have no clue which shoes to get.

Hopefully there is some kind of promo in July too. The sales people can recommend shoes. They said I needed to get all white, brown, or black. I’m going to shop around and find a comfortable all black sneaker (I would not do good with white shoes. They would be dirty the first week).

Where is everyone getting their CPR certification from? Any recommended places?

I did mine last year through In-Pulse CPR. You can find a location online. Right now they are offering the BLS provider course for $50.
