SPC Fall 2016

Hello! I have not seen any posts for the Fall 2016 at St. Pete College yet!

Probably because it is too early.

Anyone else applying?

I have a 3.5 Prereq GPA, and 3.7 Cumulative GPA.

    Hi I'm curious about something! My clinical site is Bon Secour (I was an alternate so I got what was left over) which is a nursing home. Am I there the entire two years? I thought we would rotate to different areas in the hospital such as ER, OR, ICU etc etc

    No, no, no. :p

    The people who selected an HCA affiliated place, Baycare, or Bay Pines will stay in those systems for clinical locations to come. No matter if you're in the hospital first semester or not, we'll all be in a similar type of setting (rehab, etc.). I believe if you're not in a dedicated group already (like Menorah Manor is), you can pretty much end up in any of these systems. Can't do OB or Peds in a nursing home :laugh:

    Your first semester you'll be in either a rehab or nursing home. Even the people through the VA, BayCare, and HCA are all going to the rehab parts of the hospital. You just don't have a set hospital system (BayCare or HCA) when you are at an independent rehab. In level 2 they'll put you in one. Your clinicals change every semester so you'll see different areas (OB, Peds, Psych, ER, Hospice to name a few) in different levels in nursing school.

    The training course thay was required and due by the 25th for baypines. You get a certificatecomce dome that you email to Rose Boyer.

    Yah definitely go through the process of making an appointment for the bg check because the appointments fill up quickly. Do you know where our classroom is for the 15th? It says TBA on mySPC

    At orientation they said we don't have set classrooms for the semester. We have to look at that TV to find out where our class is for the day.
