Someone please reply

Hi! I have been posting questions for days and no one has replied. I dont know if im posting correctly or not. If someone could give me a little help I would appreciate it. Im studying for the HESI exam and im terrible at vocabulary...can someone please tell me what the vocabulary part consists of? I have the study guide...are any of those words on there?

I would say that more than half of the words on the exam are from the study guide. I hope that helps. Good luck.

Thank you very much. I appreciate it

go to the north harris library or bookstore and ask for the hesi review book... I can't remember what the name was but it is the one they have in the library (usually checked out). But get the name of it and buy it at the bookstore or amazon then you're good to go..... and fyi don't freak out about the hesi, it's not bad at all...the hardest thing about getting in is the classes you're required to get an A in and the amount of pre-req classes you finish.

Okay...will do. Thanks for the help. Would you know by any chance what Lonestar's cut-off is as far as points go? Im estimating my points and I may only have 11. I know that 12 is the total possible points.

12 is almost impossible. I got into cy-fair with 11.6. North harris is easier to get into but I think their cut-off was around 11.4 but you should really ask them to be sure, the nursing advisor is really nice and helpful. If you're worried about your score than put north harris as your first choice, the other campuses are harder to get into because of the smaller size.

To be completely honest, I wouldn't advise going to North Harris, AT ALL. I know personally 4 different people that have been through LSC nursing programs in the last 8 years or so, as well as having heard many, many things through the grapevine at classes and I haven't heard anything good about LSC North Harris except that their cutoff is in fact, the lowest.

The reason they do this, is because LSC NH accepts 3-5 times more students than the other schools, for LVN, RN and transition programs. They then go about their instruction in a manner unlike any of the other schools working to weed out the "weaker" students, rather than working to help you succeed or build a more personal relationship.

To be completely honest, if I wasn't accepted to my 1st choice and was accepted to LSC NH, I would decline and wait to attend a different campus. That is truly how poor of a nursing program I have been inclined to believe they have.

Either way good luck! And you are right, the HESI really isn't bad at all. A lot of people make it sound much worse than it is. Skim through the book and try to get an idea of what's on the test rather than trying to memorize everything. You will do well!

Honestly I think the majority of the nursing programs has some sort of negative impression. I guess u just got to try & hang in there & make the best of it. Each person will always have their opinion on the schools they've attended whether its positive or negative.

Have you been to NHC yourself? Don't try and discourage people planning to apply at North harris. Acceptance letter is tough to get!! Another man's meat is another man's poison!!! Focus on how to get in to LVN! Wish you all the best. :D
