Not a nurse yet, but after my daughter was born I had a second degree tear and I was given Baby Magic baby soap to mix with water in a peri bottle. Seemed to work pretty well and smelled great :)

I am not a nurse yet either, but I am doula. Often a pad with some witchhazel on it can help speed the healing process too...

Most use some type of liquid soap diluted in a peri-bottle. I've seen Phisoderm, baby wash, just about anything mild seems to work fine.

With my kiddos I had a peri bottle, witch hazel pads, and a sitz bath. Ahhhhh!!! Sitzzzz!!!!!! :chuckle

we use witch hazel pads and dermaplast spray for sore perineums and hemorrhoids.

Dermoplast and Tucks are wonderful :) !!! I personally just recommend warm water from a peri-bottle then follow up with spray and tucks. Too much soap down there and you just dry things out. Besides, if you do use soap, you should rinse it off with plain water afterwards.
