Hi

From UK to Perth Australia!

I am a registered nurse who was up until last week was on track for submitting my 176 Visa application before the rule changes July-11. The agent in the last few weeks has just idicated that there is a problem with lodging as I only have 11 months experience and not the required 12 by the end of June-11 ahhhhh!

Just one month short cannot believe it may need to change tac and go for a 457 (Work sponsored visa) If anybody knows of any hospitals that offer this kind of sponsorship. Any advice would be helpful

Your hopefully

look up both public & private hospitals in Perth & email the international recruiter for each hospital. Most will have one or email someone in HR.

I just came from Perth WA not long ago. Contact NurseWest - they are the main nursing governing body who control all private, public and nursing homes in WA and have the final say where you can work in WA. But be warned! -they can be VERY biased and discriminating - if u have ANY complaints made against you - even if they're not justified - NurseWest can just strike u from their list and you won't get work anywhere either thru hospitals etc or nuring agencies (some private agencies don't go thru NurseWest). U also have to pay a lot of money for extra criminal checks etc. No other state is ruled by a nursing body like the above as far as I'm aware. I personally would not go back to WA to work under them again - they dominate the whole nursing system and are extremely unfair.

I wanted to know if could I apply for subclass visa 176, using my nursing eligibility letter from AHPRA alone or DIAC require a registration number from AHPRA? Since I am not currently doing any bridging.

Thanks:)

Do not know what country that you have done your nursing education, but you cannot apply for any visa and work as a Registered nurse, until you are a Registered Nurse in Australia.
