Slightly paranoid

Im going to try to explain this the best way I can. I graduated in May and passed Nclex on the first try. I've been hunting for jobs ever since at my hospital where I already work as a tech. Finally one application shows under review.

I happened to be helping out a trainer on a training day and we got to talking, she took me to visit 2 units one of which I had my application under review (let's call this unit x) I thought awesome this could give me a leg up. Another unit (we will call this unit y) that I had not applied to agreed to schedule a share day with me. Well before my share day unit x called me for an interview and they offered me the job on the spot, but didn't want an answer unit I did my share day on unit y the following week.

The following week came and I did my share day but no one was around for me to talk about employment. I had to give unit x an answer by the end of the day and without talking to unit y I only had one choice, to accept unit x's offer. I call to accept and I'm told "ok GREAT! You will hear from me as soon as I talk to the people running the new grad program".

A few days later unit y called for an interview and I said thank you but I accepted an offer on unit x. I was asked to still come in to see what they had to offer. I said ok sure, can't hurt to just go and listen.

I finish the interview and I'm told I did great and I will hear from them soon. I hear nothing! Ok whatever I think it's kind of shady they were stepping on the other units toes that way anyway. I go online to my application status and it now says closed with no word from anyone. It doesn't say I was denied like it normally does, it simply says closed.

My issue with this is that I'm not hearing back from unit x anymore either and I'm worried that by allowing them to coax me into this interview I wasn't comfortable with in the first place just screwed me out of either job.

I found it very difficult to follow your somewhat convoluted narrative... maybe it's due to insufficient caffeine. However, I think you should just speak with someone in the HR department to clarify your current status rather than try to scope it out on your own. There is a lot of "behind the scenes" work that has be accomplished to finalize any change in employment status. Maybe that is what is happening. At any rate, they will be able to provide you with accurate information.

Could it be your application is closed because you were offered a position and accepted?

Agree the story is hard to follow. Too many pronouns. Which "they" are you talking about?

I know it's very hard to follow even for me. It's confusing. The second interview I went on says closed. I guess it could be that I accepted the job from the first interview BUT the people from the second interview already knew that I accepted the other position and still asked me to come in. That's where my concern is. I don't know how else to explain it, it's a weird situation.
