  1. I know it's very hard to follow even for me. It's confusing. The second interview I went on says closed. I guess it could be that I accepted the job from the first interview BUT the people from the second interview already knew that I accepted the other position and still asked me to come in. That's where my concern is. I don't know how else to explain it, it's a weird situation.
  2. Im going to try to explain this the best way I can. I graduated in May and passed Nclex on the first try. I've been hunting for jobs ever since at my hospital where I already work as a tech. Finally one application shows under review. I happened to be helping out a trainer on a training day and we got to talking, she took me to visit 2 units one of which I had my application under review (let's call this unit x) I thought awesome this could give me a leg up. Another unit (we will call this unit y) that I had not applied to agreed to schedule a share day with me. Well before my share day unit x called me for an interview and they offered me the job on the spot, but didn't want an answer unit I did my share day on unit y the following week. The following week came and I did my share day but no one was around for me to talk about employment. I had to give unit x an answer by the end of the day and without talking to unit y I only had one choice, to accept unit x's offer. I call to accept and I'm told "ok GREAT! You will hear from me as soon as I talk to the people running the new grad program". A few days later unit y called for an interview and I said thank you but I accepted an offer on unit x. I was asked to still come in to see what they had to offer. I said ok sure, can't hurt to just go and listen. I finish the interview and I'm told I did great and I will hear from them soon. I hear nothing! Ok whatever I think it's kind of shady they were stepping on the other units toes that way anyway. I go online to my application status and it now says closed with no word from anyone. It doesn't say I was denied like it normally does, it simply says closed. My issue with this is that I'm not hearing back from unit x anymore either and I'm worried that by allowing them to coax me into this interview I wasn't comfortable with in the first place just screwed me out of either job. Opinions?
  3. She really did! When I didn't get many alternate formats consistently I was sure I failed because my friend sitting right next to me said she got tons of them, they wouldn't stop coming. Either way I passed and I never have to live through that misery again! Good luck OP I'm sure you did fine! Keep us posted.
  4. I just recently took my Nclex and I did pass in 105 questions and i got the same responses that number of alternate format questions doesn't matter. I didn't get a lot of them, not even 1 drug calc question, needless to say I was freaking out. My question here is if number of alternate format doesn't indicate anything why does Kaplan believe different? My school made us do an in class Kaplan review from a Kaplan instructor and she flat out said if you're on an alternate format question you're in the passing zone because alternate format questions are higher level questions. I know that even if alternate formats are passing level you can still be on the lower end of passing level without them but if you're constantly getting them can you still be in the failing zone?
  5. I have tattoos that are easily covered by scrubs. My big issue is that I have unnatural hair color in the bottom layer of my hair, I've had it for over 5 years now. I currently work as a PCT in a hospital and no one has said anything. I didn't even try to hide it during my interview just to see if they would tell me it needs to go. There is a policy against it but so far no one has commented on it. I have dark hair and it's dark purple so in a ponytail it doesn't stand out too much, so that's how I wear it at work. But now I'm transitioning into an RN position on a different unit. Wonder what they'll say..I really think skills are much more important than looks, within reason of course. Maybe one day things will change.
  6. It wasn't same day, it was next day. But still that was fast! I would've been paying for the quick results as well if mbon didn't post it so fast
  7. I'm in Maryland. They are usually pretty slow as well, my ATT came well after everyone's in my class but thank god they didn't drag getting my RN license number up!
  8. Board of nursing posted my license number already! I passed! I did it
  9. I will definitely let you know. Kaplan pretty much told us when we had the class that if we weren't getting alternate format questions we weren't in passing range. Idk either way I'm freaking out, I know everyone does lol! Have to figure out something to do with myself today so I'm not driving myself insane. Tempted to go do some retail therapy!
  10. So I took my NCLEX-RN today got 105 questions and took around 2.5 hours. I'm skeptical of the whole PVT thing but came home and did it several times already and each time it wouldn't take my money. So the "good pop up" as I'm seeing it called. I'm not entirely convinced that even though I got the "good pop up" that I've passed. I kept being told in Kaplan class that if you're getting SATA you're on passing level. I did get them but it was very sporadic throughout my 105 questions, and I'd have to say the last 5-10 questions I didn't get any more. No drug calc, no place in order...I just sat there in awe when it shutoff thinking omg I didn't get a good variety of questions yet. It can't be over....is it really over? Holy crap. Now an agonizing 48 hours of waiting is upon me!
