Sleep bundle

Is anyone using a sleep bundle of any kind. I'd love to hear what your facility is doing to encourage better quality sleep. If you have a standard order set and would consent to emailing it to me, PM me. I'll send you my outside email address.

Thanks

I would be interested in this also. As seth has requested, also PM me. This is a major problem in the MICU where I work.

Hugely interested in this...

... I think the first thing any patient should receive when admitted is a pair of earplugs and a sleep mask.

In my unit we turn the lights down in the hallways around 11 pm. We don't have a set policy on when to turn off the lights in the rooms, so we all do it on an individual basis.

I usually turn the lights off at 10 (and slide the glass door shut to keep out noise) unless my patient is A&O and requests otherwise or if they are very unstable and I will be in their room most of the night.

Also, we have an afternoon "downtime" for patients. We turn the lights down and limit disturbances from 3-5pm. I've been told this is evidence based practice but I haven't had the chance to read any studies about this practice yet.
