Skilled Nursing

Here is my background, I'm based in the largest city in S. Central Ks. I have 9 mo's experience working as an LPN. 6 as charge nurse in a LTC wing of a nursing home. 3 as PDN Ped's. I have been applying to nursing homes on and off for the past 2 months and haven't been able to get a job offer. I have been getting interviews but no job offers. My question is what do I need to do to get the charge nurse job. I don't have 1 year of experience yet. I do have charge nurse experience in ltc but not skilled nursing experience. I am IV certified for lpn's.

    it may just be the job market in your area. are you specifically applying for charge nurse job only? good luck with the job hunt!!

    Just as hospitals have stopped hiring LPNs, many skilled facilities have as well.
