Side work for RNs

Hi I currently work Monday through Friday, but am looking for extra work on a few Saturdays to make extra money. I do flu clinics throughout the fall, but again its hard when I work 5 days a week. I was wondering if anybody knew how to get involved in grading CNA courses? I had heard you could grade papers or do their check offs somehow? Thanks!!

Is overtime available for you? I know a lot of places is understaffed so they have no choice but to do overtime.....

Go to a staffing agency. I bet they can find you something!

The best bet is to start researching different CNA schools. I thought most schools used the professor for grading though.

Another idea is to become a AHA instructor. If you can get a training center to rent gear to you for a low cost then you can make quite a bit of cash but you have to affiliate with a TC.

I agree about checking out a staffing agency. There's almost no facility out there that doesn't have weekend staffing needs and (at least from my own experience) you would likely be guaranteed any Saturday shift you put in for.

Also check with your facility's staffing manager to see if there's extra shifts you can pick up. It may be cheaper to pay you OT than it would be to bring in outside help. But you won't know unless you ask.
