Should I take Math?

Should I take an intro math course while I'm taking my pre-reqs, just to brush up on my math skills? (I don't remember anything math-related, basically) Will it help me out when it comes time to take my math test for the program?

You may just want to try getting a math book from the library to brush up. Ya know one of those CLAST or entrance exam math review type books. It will save you in tuition costs.

This is a tough question and there isn't a universal answer.

As an undergrad, I would have told you I was not competent in math. BUT, I'd picked up some basic abilities in an Organic Chem class, that worked for me just fine when I had to do dose calculations.

To this day (35 years later) I still can't do doses the way they taught it and still teach it today. But I get the right answer... so,

Maybe some other respondent will disagree with me, but I think if you have the abilities to do math in every day life... balance a checkbook, figure out your monthly budget etc. you can probably learn what you need to know for basic dosage calculations.

Having said that, it trips up a lot of students.

I wouldn't spend the money on it, unless you felt the need to.

I agree purchasing a book or checking one out from the library would help.

Good luck to you! :)
