Should I continue to get my B.S.N.

Published

Hi all,

I have a question about schooling. I am currently a sophomore in college and I am going back and forth with continuing my schooling to obtain my BSN through a four year college. I am thinking of transfering to a tech school to just obtain my ADN and then get my RN license. What are your opinions/thoughts...I like to hear everything so please let me know what you think.

oops! thought i was quoting you..anyways..since your asking for opinions..here's my :twocents:.. IF you're already in school for your BSN i say STAY..b/c the comm college are sometimes harder to get accepted into due to long waiting list(at least in the northeast section of the country).. i think getting a bsn will open more doors for you..

and think of it this way you'll just have to go through it once and come out with a bsn,:nurse: which is a GREAT thing..:D and plus you only have 2yrs left..trust me it goes by quickly..i just finished a 15months ABSN program..so try not to transfer:nono:..

whatever you decide on doing..GOOD LUCK!

Definitely go for the BSN....you will not regret it! More education is ALWAYS better, don't backtrack.

STAY in the BSN program. You are young and almost there! :yeah:

I have been contemplating the same thing. I really want my BSN though so I plan to stick it out. And since I have 4 kids I think once I got my RN license I would be less likely to get my BSN while working. I think you have to go with your gut. BSN is better if you want to go into more administrative positions, however if that is not your goal then the ADN may be the way to go.
