Hello everyone -
Quick question for anyone who might have experience with this. We had a staff member diagnosed with shingles. I I have phoned parents of any immunocompromised students, but is it protocol to send a notice out to all staff and/or students notifying them? I don't want to alarm anyone unnecessarily. Our student vaccination rate for chicken pox is nearly 100%, but I am unsure if we have any staff members who haven't had chicken pox or the vaccine yet. I've left a message with the local health department for advice, but am still waiting to hear back.
Thanks much!

I would tell pregnant ladies and as far as I know as long as the rash is covered all is well.
Thanks - we did notify our one pregnant teacher and luckily the rash was not in an exposed area too!
