Mar 12, 201016 yr Hey everyone. With so many programs sending acceptance letters I am checking to see if anyone has heard from SFSU?
Apr 28, 201016 yr nursetobe1975 thanks for all the info so if it is 5 semester long is it 2.5 years? For the drug exam your talking about the test that comes after orientation what happens if a student does not pass? Is it simple calculations of dosages? You have 3 chances to pass. I don't think I have seen anyone not pass at least the second time so just practice and you will be ok.
Apr 29, 201016 yr Congrats youknowho ... and everyone else who got in Mine still says "in department review" ... I had applied to the GMSN program.
May 7, 201016 yr elacer08--Yes, the program is five semesters, so 2.5 years. There are no summer classes. I was accepted to start in the spring of 2011. At first I was a bit sad to not start right away, but then I saw it as a blessing in disguise. I can get the upper division general ed out of the way and get accustomed to living in SF . . . SO excited!! When do you start?
May 9, 201016 yr i think i might start fall of 2010 or spring it depends because when I emailed the man he told me i can send in an email to be switched. I am so nervous right now about the program. If its 5 semesters and you start spring you are only taking spring winter and fall? Do you know you can register for classes for fall 2010? Are you planning on dorming or getting an apartment around there? OH yea I was going to ask if you had the sheet or can send me a link to the upper division classes we will need like the list of choices can;t seem to find it
May 10, 201016 yr elacer08--My boyfriend and I plan on moving to SF and renting an apartment. Most likely in the Inner Sunset area. He'll commute to San Jose. I don't know much about the segment 3 courses. I'm under the impression it's 12 units. I plan to complete them in the fall so I don't have to worry about it during the nursing program. I figure I'll find out at orientation . . I can't register until then anyway.
May 10, 201016 yr Just found it! Hope this helps. Seems like there are a lot of fun classes. http://www.sfsu.edu/~bulletin/current/ge2.htmHere is a nursing "road map"http://www.sfsu.edu/~admisrec/reg/roadmaps/2009342303.pdfI'm not sure if they've made recent changes. As far as I know, the nursing classes are only fall and spring. We are off of school for the winter and summer. I suppose you could do the segment 3 classes during the summer but I think the cost is much more. Good luck! Maybe I'll see you in the spring.
May 10, 201016 yr SFSUmegs thanks so much it really helped me out. The whole skipping summer and winter thing doesn't that mean its longer? That is the part that kind of confuses me but thanks so much for all your help :]
May 10, 201016 yr elacer08-- I know, it's all a bit confusing and overwhelming to be going to a new school. It is simply 5 semesters long and no nursing classes are done in the summer session or winter (not sure if there is a winter session). So, if you do start the nursing program this fall, it means you'll be done at the end of the fall semester 2012. Assuming you finish your upper division GE work during that time. I will be done spring of 2013. This is what I was told by Jennifer at the nursing department. You should verify it with a counselor as well. :-)
May 10, 201016 yr ey guys, i will be starting the BSN program on spring 2011. i was wondering if you guys have any info on University Park apartments located on campus? It seems to be the most practical choice since its cheap and close to the school.
