Seneca College CLOSED PN program

Published

Hi guys,

Seneca College Practical Nursing program is now closed because they failed CNO standards!

I just a got an e-mail from the program coordinator. In the CNO their status is still on deferred.

Via CNO

The College has deferred the decision for Seneca College's Practical Nurse Diploma program until June 2017. Seneca College is not accepting new admissions or transfers into its Practical Nurse Diploma program, as of March 9, 2017. Existing students who successfully complete all program requirements will be eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario.

wow i did my pre health there and thoroughly enjoyed it . The staff are great I almost did their PN program but decided they were too far and I wasn't satisfied with their pass rates for the exam. Whats going to happen to those still enrolled?

That's really unfortunate for people who got accepted this fall..

What was the issue?

Students who have been accepted into the program for May 2017 or September 2017, will be eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario providing that all program requirements are successfully completed.

This is too bad. Applicants will be applying to other schools thus making admission much more competitive at surrounding Colleges in the region. I hope they resolve the issues :)

Actually, the school could be working to meet the requirements by the CNO I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the program is closed it is being perhaps modified to meet requirements.

Time will tell. For those in the program they are eligible to finish up the program.

Seems like the program passed on the CNO website and it's open again on their school website.

The full time program was not the problem the part time one is and it remains closed. Hopefully, the school will figure things out with respect to the part time program.

Oh, good to know
