Seeking therapy

Hello, so I'm currently a nurse and I'm still in school furthering my education.
As you all may have experienced the anxiety that comes with working as a nurse and being in school is pretty high. Along with working and going to school, I have a few other personal problems that I am trying to work through. But I feel like nothing has changed. So I wanted to seek a therapist and just have someone who's unbiased and listen to me vent.

I told my mom about the idea of going to therapy and told me that I shouldn't do that because no hospital would take me or the board would find me as unfit.
Mental health has a strong stigma that you're mentally unfit to care for yourself and others.

I was just wondering if I was to go see a therapist through my work insurance would it affect my license or my career in any way?

If the board went after every nurse in therapy the healthcare system would collapse. Get the help you need.

No, going to therapy will not affect your career or license in any way. There is no reason the board or any hospital would even know that you are going, and it's a lifeline for many of us. Please pursue this treatment if you think it will help.

Most hospitals offer Employee Assistance Programs as part of their benefits package, which are a certain amount of therapy sessions per year covered by your employer. Furthermore, no one will know you are in therapy!
