Second interview in Psych

Hello,

I'm going to a second interview at a psych hospital w/ a panel. My first interview was just with 1 HR rep, but this time I'm meeting with the nurse manager of the unit as well as other HR people... sounds a bit intimidating

Any tips for handling a group second interview w/ poise? Anything I should anticipate?

For my first interview, I wore a suit w/ heels... should I dress the same for a second interview?

Thanks in advance!

Yes wear a suit.

I would imagine that they would ask scenario questions. "If you had a suicidal patient, what would you do?".

Always have a few relevant questions to ask at the end to show interest in the facility & position. Don't ask about money.

Good Luck!!

@sarahmaria Thank you! I'm so used to scrubs that I kind of fumble when I have to get dressed up lol I know it's silly but I don't want to over or under-dress... Thanks again!

It's unfortunate that you got brainwashed into this way of thinking.

Allow me to de-indoctrinate you with my patent-pending (any such thing?) advice:

You are asking your future employer(s) to pay you $45K to $65K (in my case close to $80K) a year, so prepare for your interviews, for a lack of a better term, commensurately.

@2mint Thank you for your insight. My suit is actually very sharp IMHO, I guess I'm just not confident or used to dressing up... I will certainly be wearing it though and I'll hold my head up high. Thanks again :)

some important questions 'what do you do if you have a problem with an aid, or a supervisor" 'how do you feel about restraints' (look up the textbook answer),'how do you handle stress" 'i have 50 resumes, why should i pick yours (i found it works good to be just a little bit cocky on this one).

wear the suit. keep your answers short and don't over elaborate.

the best answer to any psych situation is 'have a cookie':woot: a dementia psych patient taught me that when she was mistaken for a nurse by an angry family.
