when do the SE start?

My mom started chemo yesterday and still feels great today...we're just kind of waiting for the side effects to start LOL, no nausea, no weakness, nothing...which of course is great, but do the side effects take a few days to show up or does it get worse as you go through more cycles of chemo? You hear so many bad things about people going through chemo, that we're thinking her experience so far is too good to be true. I went to the chemo class with her, and the nurse teaching it did a great job, but we didn't think to ask how long it would take for SE to begin?

I'm so sorry for your mom but glad she isn't having side effects. These vary with each case, the type and amount of chemo. I would suggest calling the on-call line for the oncology office. Take care.

Your Mom is lucky to have a caring daughter interested in helping her. Cancer treatment side effects are quite variable depending on type treatment :Radiation vs chemo, medication/ dose given and chemo cycle, and individual patient response, etc

University of Penn's Oncolink has great webiste with info that might help you: http://www.oncolink.com/treatment/section.cfm?c=2&s=9

Specific questions best handled by oncologist's office and beyond scope of this website.
