scrub sizing??

i am getting ready to start ns in the fall and am starting to buy scrubs, now i was wondering do you generally buy the same size pants and shirts or do you buy a bigger top and smaller bottom? also, i am trying to drop about 30 pounds :banghead: before august when school starts and went ahead and bought a couple of pairs of scrubs a size too small for motivation, is this a good idea? also when you wash scrubs do they shrink alot? thanks for the help.:bow:

It depends on the brand and the material. I read somewhere that someone found the Katherine Heigl scrubs to be sized on the small side. I never buy 100% cotton scrubs because I don't like how they wash. Even if they are supposed to be preshrunk, it seems that they are a little smaller after washing and the colors may bleed. I have been varying in my weight lately so I have some scrubs in larger and smaller sizes to accommodate whereever I happen to be with my current weight.

Hmmmm, I'd wait until August to buy scrubs if it were me. Even with the best of intentions I never buy things too little thinking I'll get into them later.

I've found different companies size their scrubs a little on the small side...the heigl ones as mentioned, urban scrubs. I like to try on different styles in the store to get an idea about size and then order them online at a better price. I hang dry my scrubs and then tumble them to get out any wrinkles so shrinking isn't usually a big problem.

Do you know if your school requires a certain brand or color??

i was told that the we only have to were a certain color on clinical days abd the color will be decided by the class as a whole which i was really happy about hopefully no white! on the other days we are able to were whatever kind of scrubs we want as long as we look professional. thanks for the advice i know i shouldn't have bought these scrubs because god knows i've been trying to remove this baby weight for the last two yrs! i am really trying this time. thanks for the objective view . i don't think i will buy anymore until august so i can see if i might my goal or not . thanks again..

My typical experience has been that they run 10% larger than my real size.. say for example size 14 pant you would think is a large or XL but in fact a few tafford scrubs I have are two sizes smaller. So 14 would be medium.
