SCCC nursing program Fall 2018

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey I'm just wondering if I can get some feedback from anyone who has already been accepted into the nursing program at SCCC over the past couple of years, I only scored an 82.7 on my TEAS exam today and am planning on retaking it in a month because I didn't have a chance to study at all...

I know the rubric well so I know how many points I have currently I'm just trying to figure out where I stand amongst the other candidates applying, any info would be great!!!

Hello,

I am applying for the first time in the fall. I got a 81.3 on the teas and I am in the same boat as you. What's making me hesitant to take the teas again is that: 1) sccc gives you two points for only taking the teas once 2) in order to get exemplary, I would have to score above a 90. Then again, I'm questioning myself because I know I can do better and what if it comes down to those couple of points on the teas. I might take the teas over in January, but I'm not sure yet.

I'm applying for fall 2018 also. I'm taking the teas on January 5th and PRAYING it doesn't snow or something and get canceled right before the deadline. I am so nervous because I've only taken A&P1 so far, so I've been studying everyday for the A&P2 material. Anyone have any advice who's already taken the teas??

I'm applying too this January. My teas exactly the same as yours. Using rubric I have 78/100.

Here is an old post. I think we have a good chance of getting into the program

Where are you taking the teas? For A&P2, definitely focus on endocrine, digestive and heart.. I would also use pocket prep app

Thank you! I've been studying so much lately to make up for not taking A&P2. I'm taking it at Nassau because Suffolk was full. I just got the pocket prep app the other day. Are the questions in the actual test worded similarly?

I definitely recommend getting the practice ati test on-line, if you don't want to get both, just get the B...it's way harder, but you'll get a good grasp of how the real test is worked.

okay thanks for the advice! Do you need to memorize conversions(like oz in pounds) and the periodic table, or do they supply that information?

I don't really remember, I remember studying conversions, but I don't specifically remember being asked about conversions? Sorry. I didn't have the periodic table given. I only remember two questions of chem: balancing an equation and properties of water.

I also talked to admissions today, they said if your score on the rubric is mid-70s to 80s, you have a good chance of getting in.

Okay yay! Thank you so much again and good luck!!

I'm applying for fall 2018 RN program day at Suffolk or Grant. I just took the TEAs today and only scored a 72.0.

I also have prereqs....

AP1 - A

AP2 - A

Micro -

Stats B+

Eng101 - B

Eng102 - B

I don't think I have a good chance of getting in.. My rubric score is only about a 45/100
