Hi I am just wondering from previous test takers who have done the Sata from the Saunders 6th edition book on how those compare to the nclex. Are they somewhat similar, I did the kaplan sata (sample test #4) which consist of 50 questions and it was brutal. I see Saunders cd has 300 sata questions and was thinking about doing them all and was just curious how they compare to the real deal. Any help would be appreciated.

I think it is useful for practice and also helps with content review but I did find the SATA in Saunders easier then NCLEX.

I think it is all about perception. I thought that the Sauders SATA questions were easier than Kaplan's but about in line with the NCLEX. Can't remember all my SATA's on the NCLEX but one was S/S or Hypovolemia...... Really basic. They did get harder as I went on, but that could have been my perception. I would do them as practice anyway. Practice makes perfect, or at least comfortable in answering that format.

What's everyone's opinion about Saunders review in general for preparing for nclex ?
I used it. I liked it. It has a lot of questions to complete and it gives fairly decent rationales. The key I believe in any NCLEX study guide or questions is giving the rationales.
I would do it again if necessary, but I don't think that would be the only source of NCLEX questions I used. A variety of sources might be better.
I used the NCSBN for 8 weeks. I learned a lot from it but I failed my first attempt. I'm trying to find another program to use that would be beneficial / reflect the NCLEX because I sure don't want to sit for a third time. I got all 265 questions so I know I was very close to passing so now I need something to get me in gear and prepared. Any and all suggestions are appreciated :))) THANK YOU !!
