ok...as i sit here in my bathrobe waiting for my hair to dry some BEFORE i have to get ready for work,I READ,my hands shake and I READ...all about the nclex.....i am literally shaking.....
i have a question................how does one prepare for the SATA questions.....there are some in the review books, even though they give good rationales,i tend to miss one or just add one....i was the same way in school.....so..what is a good way to tackle those??
also....this is what i have been doing....yesterday i started going over my school notes.....looking at normal values and the likes.....if one knows the normals...one certainly can pick out an abnormal....right? so i am told....
i also do review questions....this is it though....i do not sit for hours doing either.....i cant.....i do some, get up,and come back....this is how i studied all year and i did fine....high 80s and low 90s.....is this doable?
i take my test on friday!!!! ok...have to go puke now, just thinking about it make me crazy and nervous!! (not really going to puke)

not sure if this will help you (i tried to do it during my test yesterday, but i think i bombed).....but try what melinurse had suggested.....reading the question as if each choice is the only choice, then decide if it could or could not be....in other words, is it true or false..true and click it; false and don't....again, easier said than done when you are in that room, but i still believe it is a good suggestion. Best of luck to you.

Hi Paula,
Breathe! Don't get all stressed about it. I know it is hard but don't put so much emphasis on just the SATA. You did well in nursing school, and you will do fine on the test. Instead of looking at the answers which would fit, look at which ones definitely don't. Take it one answer at a time. You've got 6 hours for the test...don't rush the question. Trust in your instincts! I have faith in you, have faith in yourself!

Don't know if this is good advice or not, but I was told in school by my instructors to not put too much emphasis on the SATA questions.

I passed at 75 and I know I did horribly on the SATAs, they are tricky, but I just focused on each answer seperately, and chose the ones that I either remembered or thinking critically could happen.
