After contemplating a new career direction for some time, I am drawn to forensic nursing, especially working as a SANE nurse. Can anyone offer information regarding certifications/programs/degrees offered in Texas, particularly in the central part of the state? Are SANE/forensic nurses in demand in Texas?
Thanks for any info/advice!

Hello,
Just recently I mentioned to a coworker nurse that I want to earn my Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certificate and she shared that she is interested in Forensic nursing.
I hadn't made the connection but, I guess they go hand in hand. I'm new to Texas but, in the ERs where I did my clinicals for EMT and nursing it was the ER nurses who were S.A.N.E. certified.
In the meanwhile, I have to check it out myself too to see! Goodluck!

I"ll be watching this thread, as this is my area of interest also :)
I am not in TX presently, but I will be applying to nursing programs in the Austin/surrounding areas (as that's my hometown) and if accepted, I may be coming home.
