Wanted to start a blog on anyone trying for the Spring 2014 ADN program at San Jacinto. Going to take my first HESI A2 test on Aug. 28 and I am a little nervous. Hope I do well. I am still trying to get everything together so that I can turn in but all these injections and titters are driving me crazy. Has anyone else taken the HESI yet? any pointer you can give me?

Hey! Just got accepted for Fall 2013 and our first day is Aug. 26. I would say study the book from the HESI website. I seen the same exact questions and vocab in that book that I seen on the actual test. Just take a little time out and study that book also go to quizlet.com and review previous test questions. Relax before you take the test and you'll do fine. On the A&P and Biology it's mostly general knowledge questions. If you have an idea of the correct answer or know the answers that wouldn't apply just make an educated guess and you'll mostly get it right. The test is timed so make sure you allow enough time for each section or the test will stop. As far as applying yes it's a long and lengthy process so don't wait until the last minute to get things turned in. Just when you think you have everything together you have to turn right back around and get something else lol. But it's all worth it at the end! Make sure you save up some money before you start. During orientation uniforms and the lab bags come out to be around $350-$400. I haven't bought my books yet but I was told for the first semester you have over 12 required books and textbooks aren't cheap! So I'm just telling you what I wish someone would've told me :-). I submitted all my paperwork to the department and it took about 15 min because they go through all the paper work with you to make sure there is nothing missing. Have you submitted yet? What was your rubric score if you don't mind me asking. I rubric was a 23......and I got a 86.3 on my HESI.

I haven't submitted yet. I still lack CPR training. My rubric score was 22 and I got a 90 on the HESI.

That's a great job. Deadline is Friday and I know they are closed this wednesday and Friday and open half day on Thursday or something like that. You might want to call up there and make sure because I know you have to hand it in in person and if no one is there u would hate you to miss out.

I am ready to submit all required paperwork but i thought i had to have cpr cert. done before applying. Is this not the case?

yes you have to they won't accept you application without it. But I heard they extended deadline till the 14th of Nov....you might want to double check on that.

Alright, i found the cpr req. Its listed last in red w/ the immuno's. Taking the bls course this Friday and will be submitting all paperwork by Monday. Thank God they extended deadline a little longer!

I just submitted all paperwork, I got a 22 on my rubric bc I have 2 pending classes, and a 91 on my hesi. I would have a 28 if it weren't for the 2 classes, and I asked her if my score (22) would be competitive for this semester, and she said "for this semester... yes." so im praying get accepted. ? Good luck to you guys. :)
