sample study schedule for the NCLEX

Published

I was looking for advise on how to make a study schedule and maybe what content for the. NCLEX. I have to re-take it again for the 3rd time. I am a little frustrated, very disappointed, and unmotivated to study. On the last test I had many medication questions. Any advise on the pharmacology for the. NCLEX? Thank you.

definitely use your nclex test results to guide you with your studying. focus on the areas were you are "below" passing and "near" passing then incorporate all areas of the nclex into your study process.

if you can get your hands on the saunders nclex-rn comprehensive review book/cd, try to complete the assessment test. once you take the test, saunders will create a 30-day study schedule (that you can print out) and it focuses on your weak areas. if you plan to take more than 30-days to study, just stretch the 30-days to 60...90...or whatever you need. the study schedule includes all chapters from the saunders review book so you will be able to incorporate your pharm into the process. i would also say practice as many questions as possible. the saunders book/questions are good for improving nursing content/knowledge. go to your public library. the nursing section usually has other review books with cds that you can practice questions with. you may even find a copy of examcram there. examcram is set up like the nclex so you will have good questions to study with. most libraries also have a copy of the kaplan strategies (purple book) with contains 180 questions in the book plus the cd has 180 more questions. just remember to download all the cds to your home pc, return the books to the library, and you can still practice the questions at home.

good luck!

I have heard many people recommend Saunders 4th edition. I found it too easy because I would score really high with Saunders, but while using more difficult material my scores were not as high. I have heard a lot about EXAM CRAM-that it really is similar to the actual nclex style of testing. Good Luck.
