RT or LPN?

I hope Im not being redundent by posting this, I know their is another thread somewhat similial to this one, however the RN program is not an option for me.

I need to decide between the LPN and RT program. Im currently a CNA. I work nights taking care of a boy on a vent. I love my job but am ready move forward and enroll in either the RT or LPN program this fall. I just finished all my pre-req's for both pograms so I need to decide soon. Which would you choose?

Respiratory, because the pay will be better, and you may have more autonomy and responsibility depending on your state.

If you don't ever see the RN program as an option, I would go RT. If you think the RN program might be an option down the road, there are some advantages to going the LPN route.

Finding an LPN-to-RN bridge program will be substantially easier if you already possess an LPN license. Therefore, the LPN program will be advantageous if the RN license is your ultimate goal. However, the RT training will often result in higher pay and more autonomy.
