Im sorry to hear of your trouble, and know what it feels like to try different meds and find nothing seems to be working. I have tried Zoloft, Lexapro, Prozac and a couple of others. My symptoms were more anxiety than depression. It snowballed into having panic attacks and was getting really bad. My doctor refuses to prescribe any sort of tranq's like Xanax, valium, ect. because of my history with alcohol abuse. Anyhow, the only thing that has worked for me is Effexor. I know some people absolutley hate this drug because it is hard to come off of, but for me it has been a life saver. The panic attacks have stopped, I've had a major decrease in my overall level of anxiety and no weight gain. No fatigue either (except for the first 2 weeks taking it). Recently, I did try to cut my doseage with my ulimate goal of being to discontinue it but after reducing my doseage, my husband said he could tell the difference and to pls go back on my regular dose. I dont like the idea of taking a med all my life but for now, this works for me. I wish you the best and pls try not to get too discouraged, everyone is different and sometimes it just takes a while to find the right med to help. Good luck, Stacey

I hope Im not being redundent by posting this, I know their is another thread somewhat similial to this one, however the RN program is not an option for me. I need to decide between the LPN and RT program. Im currently a CNA. I work nights taking care of a boy on a vent. I love my job but am ready move forward and enroll in either the RT or LPN program this fall. I just finished all my pre-req's for both pograms so I need to decide soon. Which would you choose?

Here are my shift duties. 9pm change kangaroo bag and start new feeding vent check apply eye med 10pm apply eye med chart heart beat and pulse ox stats 11pm apply eye med start nebulizer treatment vent check 12mid apply eye med chart heart beat and pulse ox stats restock med supply cart 1am apply eye med vent check change trach dressing 2am apply eye med administer Reglan med through g-tube chart heart beat and pulse ox stats 3am apply eye med vent check make a list of supplies we need to order 4am apply eye med chart heart beat and pulse ox stats g-tube care 5am apply eye med chart heart beat and pulse ox stats finish up paper work sterilize nebulizer sets and g-tube syringes 6am apply eye med vent check add 440cc H20 to feeding bag get ready for report Thats pretty much my entire night. In addition to what I listed, I offer my patient a urinal every 2 hours and respond to any high pressure, low pressure alarms on the vent. My duties are usually pretty consistent. Hope this helped!
