Hi! I live just outside of roseville, and I 've lived within forty five minutes of it all my life. Roseville used to be a very quiet town, but recently it has made news of being one of the fastest growing cities in california. There is so much growth between sacramento, lincoln and auburn that there is no small community anymore. On the upside, this growth has provided more housing, jobs, and shopping making it very desirable. There are always tons of jobs posted for nursing. There are several major acute hospitals (kaiser, sutter, mercy) and tons of clinic and ltc. yes it is more expensive to live, renting a 3/2 house runs between $1300 and $2000 easily depending on location, but salary for RN is usually around $38-$48 an hr. LVN $20-$26. It just all depends. All in all it's a pretty nice place to live, if you like a somewhat country, somewhat city town. It's only an hour and half from Reno, two hours from the bay.... hope that helped....

Mercy in Sacramento is only paying $34.90 with almost two years experience. This is a recuiter from Mercy told me.

I grew up in Roseville- lived there for about 18 years- and it has grown, grown, grown! I haven't lived there for the last 8 years but everytime I go back I am astounded by the amount of growth. My dad has worked for Kaiser in Roseville for the last 30 years (as a pediatrician) and loves it. From what I have heard, it is pretty expensive to rent, although there are areas in the old part of Roseville that are not as bad, although not as new. It is definitely suburbia, a concrete jungle, with shopping malls on every corner! Not really my type of place, but a lot of people like it, and it wasn't a bad place to grow up (although it was very different when I was a kid). The schools are really pretty good for the most part, especially in Roseville and Granite Bay. Hope that helps!

guys, do you have an idea how much is the starting RN salary for sutter,roseville? is it the same with other hospitals? :idea:

I believe sutter pays less because they are a non-profit hospital.

Hmmm...cheaper, that's a tough one. It all depends how far you want to commute as there are a lot of places to choose from. Citrus Heights, which is right next to Roseville, would probably be cheaper. Or if you head further East on I-80 up into the foothills. Do you want suburbia, city, or rural?...all are right there really.
