I'm looking for a rolling backpack with lots of room. Any ideas? If you have one, what do you like or dislike about it? Thanks :)

I purchased my daughter's rolling backpack from LL Bean for $60 last year. It stands up well to the abuse of a ten year old... she tends to drag it if it flips over and just generally is not very nice to it. It is nice if you use the wheels, however if your items are heavy, and for whatever reason you might need to use the straps to carry it, it is quite a bit heavier than a normal backpack. I would say as long as you can roll it most places you go, it is worth the initial investment.

I bought a Magellan backpack from Academy Sports and love it. The wheels are large so it rolls well even when loaded. It is very stable when I prop it up alongside my desk. It has lots of compartments including a padded laptop pocket. The downside is that it is not as comfortable as my old soft backpack so I roll it everywhere and only wear it while on my scooter.

I dont like the bulkyness of them, thats about it . My gf has one and when i walk along ways , i put a cpl books in her bag and she rolls with it. lol. If you have 3-4-5 classes and all the books u need at once so youi dont have to go back to car, then i recommend one. (back saver) also if you look at backpacks.com and othes online they have a few cool ones.

I got mine from Walmart and I think it was $30. It rolls and also has a laptop compartment! So far so good - no problems whatsoever. Its large enough for about 3 classes worth of books (thick), binders and notebooks, plus all my pens and stuff. I really like it!

I have seen a lot of the nursing students at my cc lugging around rolling suitcases!! I wonder what in the world they have in there?

I've seen fellow students use rolling suitcases, but the problem with those is that everything gets jumbled around inside. A rolling backpack is far better, imho, as it has pockets and compartments for everything.
I use this backpack. http://www.ebags.com/ebags/router_wheeled_laptop_convertible/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=20172
It was a gift from my parents when I started nursing school. It's NOT one that can be carried on the back, I only roll it, but it holds a ton and has been going strong for almost two years. My old laptop fit in it beautifully, my new one is a widescreen and baaaarely fits in the padded laptop pocket. This thing rolls through snow, ice, everything and holds up like a champ, plus I can carry pretty much everything that I need in it, including lunch.

Between my notebook with all my course content and my books, it was backbreaking. I searched and searched for the best backpack and read a lot of reviews. A lot of the reviews indicated that the handles would break or that there just wasn't enough room inside of the backpacks. In this backpack I was able to put my laptop, my med-surg book (which was about 4 inches wide), my notebook and 2-3 of my other smaller books. I definitely recommend it to anyone. It has been so long ago but I believe the cost was around $50-$60, but well worth it!

I just got a High Sierra Fast Forward wheeled backpack for Christmas. I was disappointed that the handle isn't long enough but read a review that says that with some WD 40 it will telescope so I'm going to try that to see if it works.
Other than that, I love this backpack!! I did alot of comparison shopping online to find it. ebags.com is great because you can enter in your laptop and it will tell you whether your laptop fits in the backpack. You can also compare the backpacks that you like side by side to see which one has the specs that you want. I did not buy mine on that site because I was able to find it for cheaper and free shipping on another site. Also the High Sierra has a lifetime guarantee. My bf has a High Sierra hiking backpack that he uses daily for work and it has held up very well, thats why I chose this brand.
