I didn't have to do an interview. The people with the top 52 compass test scores were accepted. My sister did though. She said they're basically trying to see if you are focused enough to complete the program. They asked her questions about why she wanted to be a nurse, her support system, and how she deals with stress.

Are you in Memphis? Are you starting in September 2014 or have you already started? I was told that everyone is interviewed. Please let me know. Thanks

I'm in Clarksville, TN, but I'm going to TCat Dickson. I start May 1st. You took the compass test yet?

Yes. I took it in Jan. I did extremely well but I don't know where I rank among other applicants. The woman in the nursing office said they interview everyone and then decide based on scores and the interview. I don't think our class will be as large as yours though. At least that what I've heard from former and current students.

Yea, each campus is different in how many they accept. You'll do fine. Let me be the first to congratulate you on getting into nursing school! :-)

Hey all!! I'm a nervous wreck waiting to hear back from 3 schools. Took my compass test Tuesday. I don't if my scores are good or bad. Help. Reading 82/writing 70/ prealg 57/alg 34...

What are your school's compass score requirements?

Thank you! Congratulations to you as well! If you have time come back and let us know how it's going. Good luck!

I finally started the LPN program Spring term, after applying to RN for Literally 6 years! It's a lot more complicated than I had anticipated; which is a good thing, I guess. My biggest obstacle was how disorganized the system is, but I relayed that thought to a co-worker (RN) who's also a clinical instructor at a nursing school and his reply was "kinda like life, huh"? That really put things into perspective for me because truly we can't plan our life out for more than a day...if we're lucky! So now I just roll with the punches. It's so exciting as I've been a CNA, MA, EMT, Phlebotomist for nearly 10 years. Good luck!!
