RN Thinking of helping out in NYC

Hi everyone , as an RN I am very much considering going to NYC to help out with this mess. I have only done HHC for 4 years so I don’t even know if they would be able to use me. I have no experience in ICU or ER. Is anyone else considering doing this ?

I think they need help with all skill levels. Javits center's "field" hospital is going to be a non covid hospital with more med surg level patients. If you feel the pull, give it a shot.

I went to an affected area after Katrina. I went because they needed peds nurses but I ended up doing literally everything but (well I had one kid) I took care of rural patients with everyday needs and evacuees from New Orleans with infections from water and compartment syndrome from crush injuries. It was rewarding, educational, ... and, honestly,... looked good on my resume.

Hey all-

I am a nurse of 25 years who received my assignment to report to the ‘pop-up Hospital’ at the Meadowlands in Nj. I’ve received NO info but to report for orientation Monday. Can anyone add any info as to what I should expect? Should I wear scrubs to orientation... bring a backpack with my supplies?

My only experience similar to this was after 9-11, but there weren’t any patients to care for or save... it was a very different experience.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks. Be safe all.
