An LPN friend told me there's a way to test for the RN license in California. The fee was $1000 & you were clinically observed to see if you qualified. You couldn't even make once mistake. (She happened to make a mistake by forgetting to glove up for a procedure so didn't pass the test.) Has anyone ever heard of this?
In another words, challenge the boards? Never have like for one to be able to "challenge" much anything, nursing boards! So, what is this all about? Curious. Still think you have to takes NCLEX anyway.
Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.
No LPNs/LVNs are allowed to challenge the RN boards in California, or anywhere in the nation. The only way to become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN in the state of California is to complete an approved nursing program.
