RN Supervisor interview

Hello!
was wondering if anyone had the same exp, I was contacted for interview which I showed up. Was told I would get an offer letter and to give my references heads up, they called my ref 3 days later and called me back but I was at work so unable to answer phone so they left VM to call back. I followed up TWICE with no answer back. Like what the heck?
if someone didn't want to hire me I'd either hear nothing or receive a rejection letter. Anyone go thru this?

Unfortunately, this happens more often than it should. Sometimes an offer is "anticipated" but still needs HR approval, budget sign-off, or reference clearance before it can be finalized. If something changes internally (another candidate, hiring freeze, internal transfer, etc.), communication can fall apart.

You did the right thing by following up twice. At this point, I'd move on and keep applying elsewhere. If they circle back, great — but don't pause your search waiting.

It's frustrating, but it's usually disorganization rather than something personal.

I agree with the other poster.

It sucks but it happens and we'll probably never know why exactly. I had this happen to me a few years ago with a job I was REALLY excited about and they seemed really excited about me!! It was almost guaranteed I'd be getting an offer, but nothing happened. I called/emailed multiple times and they never called me back. Finally I took the hint and moved on :/

I interviewed, was offered job and discussed start date. Six weeks later I got rejection letter.  No explanation, no nothing.  Keep looking and don't hold your breath.  Your never know what goes on behind closed doors.  Good luck!

I have found that no return call means that they have no answer yet, or possibly negative, that position is filled or something is pending. No one calls to say that they don't know. Just wait. Atmost, you might email someone, politely.
