RN to RPN

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I am almost complete my first year in the BSCN program, but I am unable to finish the 4yr program. I have been thinking of switching to an RPN college program but I am wondering if the program would be shorter than the 2yrs because of my 1yr in the university program.

Has anyone done this or know of someone who did?

lets clarify and ask where are you? I suspect Canada as talking about RPN and if this is the case will move your thread to the Canadian Nursing Program discussion forum

I am from Canada, but I believe this applies to any part of the world where someone moved from an advanced program such as RN to a less advanced program such as RPN, LPN or whatever it may be.

Not all countries train LPN and RPN can also mean Registered Psychiatric Nurse in one province of Canada.

I guess if looking at schools and switching then a lot will depend on the school and whether they will accept any previous course work done. Even in the US not all schools will accepts credits or give credit to other work done
