Hey everyone!
So Im finally going to school for what i want to be a Nurse!
Here is my problem, well not much of a problem.
I will not know if I get into the LPN program until June.
If I am accepted into the program and graduate I am going to persue the LPN to RN Bridge
program.
I was thinking of taking my pre reqs starting now and by june i can also apply for the RN
program. If im accepted I will join the RN over LPN.
Now here is the catch, the programs im applying for are Evening.
LPN is 60 weeks and the bridge is 1.5 years.
RN program is a 2 year program so alot of the work is crammed.
I am a young (24) wife, mother of three, and own/operate a daycare. In your honest option what would you do? Im torn reason be is if I do the LPN, which isnt as much work as the RN I can be done in 60 weeks..then i would have a LPN licensed, so if something comes up I dont have to drop out of t he RN program. or should I just get into the RN program?
Ahh im so confused, i just need some advice other then my husbands :)

I was in a similar situation, and it was basically decided for me. I wanted to go for my RN but there was a 1-2 year wait for every program in the area; I found I could get into an LPN program right away. I figured I may as well get the PN license and start working, and maybe I would find a nice employer who would pay for my RN. :) I just wanted to get into the profession as soon as possible, and a 2-year RN program with a 2 year waiting list wasn't doing it for me. Are there wait lists in your area for RN?
There are some schools which are a hour away from me with no waiting lists and the ones close to me have up to a five year waiting list...Im in massachusetts
