RN License

Hello all,

After 6 years of Nursing, I am ready to take a break. Thus, I have accepted a position in a clinical laboratory as Medical Technologist. I will be paid the same rate and the work is stress free. I have done the lab for 25 years, so I can almost work it with my eyer closed. I was wondering if my work in the lab would fulfill the number of hours required to maintain my RN license or if I have to work certain amount of hours in nursing. I know, I can always check with my board, but I want a hear what you might have to say.

Working in the lab will not fulfill hours towards nursing requirements. I am not aware of any state that has actual requirements for the number of hours required to be worked in a two year period, they have hours required for CEUs, but not specific work hours to keep a license up.
